Brattleboro is adding new convenience features to the parking system in response to the expressed wishes of the public. The number one concern raised last year during the Parking Survey was the need to accept credit and debit cards. Once the transition is complete this new equipment will allow the public to pay for parking in Brattleboro using a credit/debit card, using an app on their Smartphone, and even with traditional coinage.
At this time, in spite of the weather conditions, we anticipate that all on street single space meters and most, if not all, Pay & Display Kiosks will have transitioned by the close of business on Thursday, January 31, 2019. However, weather has delayed the implementation of the Smart Parking App. Stickers indicating your location (For Example Meter 12 on Main Street) need to be applied to all single space meters and Pay & Display Kiosks. The first application failed due to extreme cold and wet winter weather. The stickers will be adhered as soon as is practicable and notification will soon follow that the Smart Parking App is ready to use.
With this transition, Brattleboro is phasing out Smart Cards. If you have a Smart Card and would like a refund for the remaining value, please visit the Parking Enforcement Office at 77 Flat Street.
