Author Elizabeth G. Macalaster will be presenting her new release In Disguise! at the Putney Public Library Thursday, March 7, 2013, 7-8:30 pm.
Spanning more than 300 years and 10 countries, In Disguise! tells the stories of history’s most daring women, from Harriet Tubman, who freed hundreds of slaves during the Civil War, to dancer Eva Wu, who hid secret messages in her hair to aid the Chinese Revolution. Its gripping true stories, secret-agent tips, and spy trivia feed a growing appetite for intrigue and adventure in young readers.
The annual Sugar on Snow Supper will be held Saturday, March 2, at Broad Brook Grange in Guilford. Traditionally the first sugar supper in Windham County each year, the meal features ham, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, rolls, pickles, homemade donuts, and Guilford maple sugar on snow.
There will be three seatings: at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 pm. At each seating, a half-gallon of Guilford maple syrup will be raffled.
It’s in the Calemdar already, but I got the feeling iBrattleboro wants Guilford news & this seems to be it for this week. (I do see your note in the guidelines saying events should go in the Calendar, maybe not here, so am not sure you want this here, but anyway!!!)
This Thursday at Broad Brook Grange at 7 pm is the annual pre-town meeting. First the Selectboard, then School board, will outline the items they’re going to be bringing to the voters on Mar 5. This is good venue to ask questions in an informal setting. Candidates for Town & School Board offices are also asked to attend to introduce themselves. Guilford doesn’t get as fancy as having a candidates’ forum, so this is it.
Greetings Guilford,
As you can see, you have a brand new section of the site to publish Guilford news, events, and commentary. Your stories will still go on the homepage first, like all others, but now they can all be found in one place.
Chesterfield, Deerfield Valley, Dummerston, Hinsdale, Marlboro, Putney, Vernon, and West River Valley are also included in the regional section.
