Brattleboro Selectboard Special Meeting Agenda – November 10, 2020

The Brattleboro Selectboard will hold a special meeting, including two site visits, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.  The Board will convene the meeting at 12:00 noon at 28 Vernon Street and then move to 12 Left Bank Way.  The Board will recess the meeting after the site visits and reconvene the business portion of the meeting at 6:15pm using Zoom (with no physical location due to the ongoing social distancing requirements of COVID-19).   The attached agenda contains information about how to access the meeting remotely, including the required “passcode.”  Information about how to connect to the meeting is also posted on the homepage of the Town’s website.  ASL interpreters will be available at the business portion of the meeting at 6:15pm for deaf and hard-of-hearing community members.

Green Street Utility Work

On Wednesday, October 28, Utilities crews will be working at the intersection of High ST and Green ST.  There will be restricted two lane traffic on High ST and there will be no parking at the metered spaces on High ST beginning at 6:00am.  Vehicles parked in these spaces after 6:00am may be towed.  Green ST will be closed between Retting PL and High ST on Wednesday and will reopen Thursday morning.  

Water service will be shut down on Wednesday night from 10:00 pm until at least 7:00am.   


Updated Brattleboro Water Main Flushing in Tri-Park/Deepwood

UPDATED: WATER MAIN FLUSHING in Tri-Park/Deepwood

The water main flushing in Tri-Park scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2020, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, October 14, 2020.  

Flushing of the water mains in Tri-Park Cooperative Housing and Deepwood Drive Developments will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2020


Survey: Walking, Bicycling, Wheelchair, Public Transit in Brattleboro

The Brattleboro Coalition for Active Transportation (BCAT) hosts an annual Safe Streets Forum each fall that is used to collect information from community members and serves to guide our work for the upcoming year. Due to COVID, the coalition has created this survey to collect information from Brattleboro community members in place of the forum.

Please, take a few minutes of your time to help us better understand your unique viewpoint of assets and barriers to active transportation for yourself and/or family.


Brattleboro Representative Town Meeting Human Services Review Committee Applications Accepted

 The Brattleboro Representative Town Meeting Human Services Review Committee is accepting applications for FY22 Human Services Funding. The Application, as well as Instructions and Guidelines, are posted on the Brattleboro Town website – www.brattleboro.org. The deadline to submit applications to the Brattleboro Town Manager’s Office via e-mail is Monday, November 9, 2020, at 5:00pm.

Brattleboro Fall Paving Update

Starting Monday, October 5th, All States Asphalt (a contractor of the town) will begin the Contract #1 portion of our annual capital paving project. Weather permitting, the following schedule is anticipated:

New England Dr. – Access may be limited during paving operations. Paving operations may take several hours.

The Acorn Lane portion of the Town’s annual capital paving project has been postponed until Monday, September 21.  The street will be closed to through traffic during paving operations, and driveway access may be limited.  Each street closure may take several hours.

Monday, September 14th, DMI Paving (a contractor of the town) will begin the paving portion of our annual capital paving project. Weather permitting, the following schedule is anticipated:

BPD Driveway – Shim and pave the driveway into the police department. 

Preston Parking Lot – Preparation and shim work. The parking lot will be closed to parking. Please seek alternate parking locations.

Bonnyvale Road Closure For Stormwater Improvements

Starting Monday, August 17th, The Department of Public Works will begin stormwater improvements on Bonnyvale Road. The work will take place between number 1043 and 1219. As a result, this section of Bonnyvale Road will be closed to through traffic between the hours of 7:00 AM and 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Local traffic will be able to access the driveways within the project area. Weather permitting, the project is anticipated to be completed by August 28th. Advanced warning signs will be in place to warn of the closure.
