Continuing our tour through the online Brattleboro Shop, let me introduce you to some featuring familiar Brattleboro clock faces. There are also a few fine accessories here you might find useful. Perhaps best of all, you don’t have to leave your house to do some shopping.
Now that it is finally getting chilly out, it’s safe to say we are approaching . The Brattleboro Shop, our online Brattleboro souvenir store, has many mugs for you. These mugs are great for tea, coffee, and cocoa, and make perfect gifts.
Some might recall that we started to sell some classy, unique Brattleboro-themed souvenirs. It’s less than a year old, but the response has been great, and we’ve been adding new things on a regular basis.

Tho not a breakfast person, I enjoyed several visits for coffee & to join friends who were breakfasting at a nice cafe on Elliot St called The Restless Rooster. Just heard they lost their lease & are closing. Thought that might be picked up on ibrattleboro, but not seen anything. Facts needed. But the place was cheerful and pleasant, & the times I was there seemed quite active with happy customers.
Rewind the clock a bit to 1997. Netscape just announced that their browser will be given away for free. Microsoft buys Hotmail. Macromedia introduced Dreamweaver. Google hadn’t bought any office space yet.
The Windham County Workforce Development Network (Windham WorkNet) is hosting the 5th Annual Southern Vermont Career EXPO and Career Social on Thursday October 19th, 2017. Representatives from area employers, employment agencies, and educational organizations will have booths set up at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden in downtown Brattleboro from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Windham County residents of all ages and various employment needs will be able to connect with employers and learn about both full-time and part-time job opportunities or look ahead to explore careers pathways and the training needed to pursue them. The day will end with the Career Social, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at The Lounge, to meet and network with young professionals and successful business leaders.

Managers and the Union Bargaining Committee at Brattleboro Food Co-op have come to a tentative agreement on a new, three-year contract. The contract is scheduled for ratification by July 15th. More details will be available thereafter. All participants were trained in Interest-Based Problem Solving by FMCS (Federal Mediation Conciliation Service), which will continue to be used as a tool as issues arise during the life of the contract.
I was just shocked when I called Brattleboro Taxi to get a recorded message saying they were no longer operating! This is a huge blow to those of us who can no longer drive and have used the taxi to get to appointments and to errands.
