Was wondering if anyone out there can refer me to a source selling “do it yourself” Lucite or Acrylic embedment kits I can order to preserve a dried specimen in a clear, translucent block maybe 2″ thick x3″ wide and  6′ long. The found object, a crayfish is very fragile but completely dried out. Is this a difficult process with mixing exact proportions while trying to beat the clock before it sets up and how do you avoid air bubbles, is it expensive and what accessories do you need to complete a project?? Living on Main Street, a few times a day I hear police, fire and ambulances passing by. I’ve looked all over but can’t seem to find a web-based way to listen to their scanner frequencies. I have an iphone scanner app that works well, but Brattleboro doesn’t show up in the list. Does anyone know about a site or app that has local emergency responder scanner frequencies?

I just received a call from California, 408-023-6901, saying they were from regarding microsoft windows having some problem.  I asked for a little more info, and he started asking to verify info about my computer, which I refused to answer, and said if there were a problem I would expect an email regarding this, and, unfortunately, I started to raise my voice, and he hung up.  Has anyone else gotten a call like this, and reported it to anyone?  Any other info?  Thanks.

I noticed a “for rent” sign in their window yesterday.  It seems like the place is busy.  There are often people hanging out in front, smoking.  And they’ve only been open a few months.  I hope everything is okay with them.

Anyone know whether Next Stage is air conditioned?

When leaving work around 2 on Friday, I–for some crazy reason–decided to drive through town. Traffic was very heavy, including pedestrian traffic. To my surprise, the lights were flashing , resulting in driving chaos, and making it practically suicidal for pedestrians, I ended up belligerently holding up traffic behind me to allow a lady to cross the street who had been waiting for quite a while in the hot sun.

Who makes the decision on those lights? I am going to have to dissagree with the decision on Friday, unless it was unavoidable. I was very relieved to reach Gougers Market, as I saw many close calls involving turning cars, stressed pedestrians, and generally busy traffic.

The classical remark which gets parents to explain right and wrong to their child.

But how often do adults make this remark in board rooms and business meetings? Have you ever been in a situation where “everyone does it” was the justification for questionable conduct, and if so how did you respond?

I have been growing Knockout roses with good success. The are hybrids, developed for hardiness so that even a bumbling gardener like me can’t harm them.

Last year someone gave me a fancy rose bush — I think it is called a Tiffany. It produced beautiful roses, but only about 2 of them. This year, the leaves are turning yellow, and the plant looks sick.

I heard there was a terrible accident on Western Avenue on Thursday. Anybody know anything? Our paper didn’t cover the scene for today’s edition.

Short notice but I am looking for a place locally to have a romantic evening/afternoon tomorrow with my husband as we have a sitter! Some daydreams included a bottle of wine/champagne and a room with a Jacuzzi. Are there any places that people know of where we might escape to tomorrow?
