There’s been a bunch of publicity about some states allowing property owners to pre-pay some or all of their 2018 property tax before the close of 2017 as a work-around of the new federal limit on “SALT” deductions. Anyone know if Vermont allows this? Guess one could phone the appropriate agency, but of course I thought of this after hours! Can find nothing on the Vt tax dept website or anywhere else online about this. Thanks, & HNY.
The National Weather Service is forecasting bitter cold temperatures Wednesday through at least New Year’s Day, including dangerously cold wind chill values. Presently, the immediate forecast is for temperatures to fall to -6 degrees tonight into Wednesday and plummet to -21 degrees with wind chills on Wednesday night into Thursday. Green Mountain Home Repair, a program of the Windham & Windsor Housing Trust, is pleased to announce a pellet stove replacement program for Windham County residents. Eligible homeowners will get a price reduction of $2,000 to $4,000 on the cost of purchasing and installing an approved pellet stove to replace an old wood stove, or kerosene or propane heater.
