The Drawing Studio in Brattleboro will host a Weekend Drawing Intensive on January 6th and 7th. This workshop is for absolute beginners and experienced artists. Our aim is to:
Jan. 11 – Mar. 18: Mitchell • Giddings Fine Arts presents “Winter Group”, an exhibit of new work by Donald Saaf, Torin Porter, Josh Bernbaum, and Jackie Abrams, and select work by our gallery artists. We are pleased to welcome and introduce printmaker Erika Radich. Artists Reception Thursday, January 11, 5 – 7pm. Collaborative Artist Talk Saturday, February 10 at 5pm.
Please join us this Thursday December 14th for an Open House at The Drawing Studio from 4 to 7 pm. Come and learn about our classes in traditional and experimental drawing practices, color mixing and composition, as well as our weekly drop in life drawing groups. We also have gift certificates available if you want to bring art into the life of someone you love this Winter.
PUTNEY- A crankie is an old storytelling art form that has recently become popular again. A long illustrated scroll is wound around two spools and set into a box with a viewing window. The scroll is hand cranked, the unfolding story narrated, sung or just accompanied by music. This December Sandglass Theater is holding a crankie fundraising celebration with events including performances, a crankie building workshop and an online auction of crankies built by local artists.
BRATTLEBORO, Vt.: For the fourth year in a row, the art and crafts of Brattleboro-West Arts will make their way eastward for a downtown exhibit and sale, but this year’s event will feature an additional day of shopping, as well as delicious food and live music.

Vermont Humanities Council Grant Supports Vermont Abenaki Artists Panel Discussions in Area Libraries
Native American Heritage month offers special opportunities to connect with Abenaki
artists at area libraries in a series of panel discussions titled “Wearing Our Heritage,” organized by the Vermont Abenaki Artists Association in partnership with Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, funded in part by a grant from the Vermont Humanities Council.
Mitchell • Giddings Fine Arts is pleased to present Emily Mason, “Explorations”, a survey of Mason’s prints from 1985 – 2016. An Artist Opening Reception is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 5-7pm, followed by an Artist Talk Sunday, November 12, 5pm. This gallery-wide exhibition continues through January 7.
BRATTLEBORO: Borter’s Jewelry Studio on High Street announces its winter/spring schedule of beginner- and intermediate-level metalsmithing workshops and invites the public to preview the classes at an open house during November’s Gallery Walk.

Shoot the Moon theater company presents Orson Welles’ “The War of the Worlds” at the Hooker-Dunham Theater, Friday and Saturday, October 20-21, 27-28 and November 3-4.
“Wonderful, little plays,” is the comment of a cast member at a recent rehearsal, as all of us involved in the Guilford Center Stage fall production are discovering that these short plays, which have been sleeping on the printed page for 7 decades, are both moving and entertaining on stage.
Mitchell • Giddings Fine Arts is proud to feature Mapping the Unknown, an exhibition of monotypes, oil paintings and collages by Susan Osgood. The exhibit showcases work featured in the book A Ghost of Water: Poems by GennaRose Nethercott Inspired by the Art of Susan Osgood. An opening reception is set to take place Thursday, September 21 from 5 -7pm, with an Artist Talk scheduled for Saturday, October 28 at 5pm. A special reading of A Ghost of Water by GennaRose Nethercott will take place in the gallery during the Brattleboro Literary Festival on Sunday, October 15 at 5:30pm. The exhibit will run through November 5.
SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. – An array of the work of local artists is on the auction block for Main Street Arts’ Lights, Camera, Auction benefit event Saturday, Sept. 16.
West Brattleboro — The gallery spaces in All Souls Church Unitarian Universalist in West Brattleboro are hosting Stu Copans’ annual exhibit of papercuts along with work with a Peace theme by three other artists through the end of October.
