Construction Update
Brattleboro-Hinsdale
BF A004(152)
DATE: Friday, January 3, 2025
TRAFFIC IMPACTS:
Daily shoulder closures on the new bridge deck for westbound New Hampshire/Vermont Route 119 are scheduled to continue next week as weather allows.
Local traffic accessing Mountain Road and/or Norm’s Marina in New Hampshire may experience short delays next week. Both locations will be open to traffic at all times, however, travelers should be aware of possible lane shifts around work zones.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
Crews will continue work on form removal on the bridge under a shoulder closure. Advance warning signs for this operation will be in place to notify the traveling public when work is active.
The earthworks subcontractor is continuing their work on drainage in New Hampshire next week. This work should not impact NH 119, but will impact motorists looking to access Mountain Road and Norm’s Marina.
LOCATION:
The Hinsdale, NH to Brattleboro, VT bridge project will replace the existing twin truss bridges on New Hampshire Route 119 over the Connecticut River with a single, new structure approximately 1800′ long. On the Vermont side, the new structure will begin on Vermont Route 142 – about 1000′ south of the current intersection of VT 142 and NH 119. The new configuration will connect to NH 119 in New Hampshire east of the George’s Field Road/NH 119 intersection.
The bridge opened to motor vehicle traffic on December 4th, 2024. It will open to pedestrian traffic in Spring 2025.
PROJECTED COMPLETION: June 30, 2025
