Work is scheduled to continue on the bridge deck shoulder and on Mountain Road in New Hampshire as weather allows.
The frequency of these email updates will reduce from weekly to monthly until operations ramp up in the Spring.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS:
Daily shoulder closures on the new bridge deck for westbound New Hampshire/Vermont Route 119 will continue and lane shifts and work zones will remain active on Mountain Road. Travelers accessing Mountain Road or Norm’s Marina may experience short delays.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
Current operations will continue as weather allows for the foreseeable future. Removal of forms from a shoulder closure on the bridge deck will continue. The drainage work in New Hampshire off of NH 119 is also scheduled to continue.
LOCATION:
The Hinsdale, NH to Brattleboro, VT bridge project will replace the existing twin truss bridges on New Hampshire Route 119 over the Connecticut River with a single, new structure approximately 1800′ long. On the Vermont side, the new structure will begin on Vermont Route 142 – about 1000′ south of the current intersection of VT 142 and NH 119. The new configuration will connect to NH 119 in New Hampshire east of the George’s Field Road/NH 119 intersection.
The bridge opened to motor vehicle traffic on December 4th, 2024. It will open to pedestrian traffic in Spring 2025.
PROJECTED COMPLETION: June 30, 2025
