The Windham Southeast School District (“WSESD”) will hold an information session on the proposed FY ’24 budget on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Windham Regional Career Center Cusick Conference Room, 80 Atwood Street, Brattleboro and remotely via Zoom
Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford, and Putney Residents Invited to WSESD Budget Information Session on Tuesday, March 14 in the WRCC Cusick Conference Room and Remotely via Zoom.
The Windham Southeast School District (“WSESD”) will hold an information session on the proposed FY ’24 budget on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Windham Regional Career Center Cusick Conference Room, 80 Atwood Street, Brattleboro and remotely via Zoom

This Tuesday, please consider casting a vote for Eva Nolan as one of Dummerston’s 2 representatives on the WSESD school board, which serves Dummerston, Brattleboro, Putney, and Guilford.
Her background as a mother of 2 boys, a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, and years of professional experience in outreach and support to survivors of abuse, Eva is uniquely qualified for this role.

The Windham Southeast School District Board will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in the WRCC 1st floor Conference Room 198E for an EXECUTIVE SESSION under 1 V.S.A. §313(a)(7) Academic records or suspension or discipline of students. The regular meeting will commence in the WRCC Cusick Conference Room at approximately 6:30 p.m. or at the conclusion of the executive session.

WSESD Social Justice Committee (note: previously the Board’s Diversity and Equity Committee) – Mission: Foster learning environments in which all members of the school community are safe, feel valued and are appreciated, as well as promote policies and procedures that value equity and diversity in our schools.
We will meet without a formal, developed agenda in order to begin the process of discourse. Our goal is to explore ways that the Social Justice Committee can support District-wide concerns and goals. At this initial meeting we will create an agenda that is sensitive to the needs of students, parents and guardians, staff and teachers, administrators, community members, and the Board itself.

II. EXECUTIVE SESSION – 1VSA §313 (a)(4) a disciplinary or dismissal action against a public officer or employee
Mindy Haskins Rogers of Northampton (MA) and an alumna of BUHS, mentioned the policy of reporting unprofessional conduct by a licensed teacher to the Vermont Agency of Education, which has a state-level review panel. She cited the statute supporting this. Ms. Haskins Rogers asked Superintendent Mark Speno if he was aware of this requirement, and if he had issued these reports in a timely fashion. Mr. Speno replied “yes” to both questions.
• Mr. Schoales asked if the investigator had received more support to complete the interviews and research. KY responded: she was unsure but will follow up. Mr. Speno noted the investigator has not requested more support.
