What superhero can carry 122 times her own weight,  fly 5 million miles on a gallon of honey and see ultraviolet colors invisible to us? Yes! The Mighty Bee!

Bees can buzz along at 15 mph and beat their wings 200 times per second. What do bees do with their superpowers? They help provide the world with flowers, fruit, and even chocolate! One in three bites of food we eat is thanks to these pollinators! And don’t forget honey. To make a pound of honey, bees must fly 55,000 miles and visit around 2 million flowers.

“R” rCredits For You?

What are rCredits?

The rCredits system is a cooperative mutual credit organization providing online credit card, debit card, and cash card services.

In this economy, it’s hard to find US Dollars to pay for things. With rCredits we can fund what we need, without having to depend on US Dollars. rCredits are simply a way for us to give each other credit in our local community, so that, in effect, there is more money to go around.

You can spend rCredits and be paid with rCredits just as with US Dollars.

Weekend Comedy Series – Groucho Marx

Everyone knows Groucho Marx, right? He and his Marx brothers made vaudeville and movie history, he hosted a popular game show as television got started, and here, appeared on the Dick Cavett show in September of 1969.

Groucho has spawned imitators. Alan Alda paid tribute to him on an almost weekly basis during the years M.A.S.H. was on the air. Locally, we’ve had stage performances of Marx Bros. movies.

The baker gives him the cookie, which he promptly eats. Then he says to the baker, “Gimme anudder cookie for me magic trick.”

Welch Issues Statement on Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court Decision

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Peter Welch today issued the following statement following the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision to make same-sex marriage a right in all 50 states:

“The wall of marriage discrimination in America has finally come down. The Supreme Court affirmed today what Vermonters recognized years ago — that the quality of love between two people is more important than their gender,” Congressman Welch said.

Marriage Equality Wins!

The Supreme Court of the United States has declared that LGBTQ couples are now free to marry in all 50 states. This is huge!

A long, bitter and frustrating fight for equal rights has culminated in a victory. This is a wonderful day worthy of much celebration! Thank you SCOTUS for making the right decision.
