West Brattleboro Fire Station Open House and Ribbon Cutting

Construction on the new West Brattleboro Fire Station (Station 2) is complete and the Fire Department is now operating out of the new building. The Town of Brattleboro and the Fire Department personnel are proud of the new station and invite the public to tour the station, see the equipment, and celebrate this important milestone for our community.


The New 10 Commandments

There have been many attempts to re-write the Commandments. Many have been intended to improve  them with varying degrees of success. Some have been idealistic. Some have been humorous. And some have been cynical.


Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia: Effective Communication Strategies for Caregivers

Brattleboro, Vermont. On Thursday, April 27th, 2017 from 2-4 pm in Bellows Falls and 5:30-7:30 pm in Brattleboro. Brattleboro Area Hospice & the VT Alzheimer’s Association will host 2 presentations on Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia: Effective Communication Strategies for Caregivers. The daytime presentation will take place at the Immanuel Retreat Ctr and Stone Church Arts (Currier House) at 12 Church St. in Bellows Falls. The evening presentation will take place at the Gathering Place at 30 Terrace St. in Brattleboro. The presentations are free and the public is encouraged to attend.


VFW Lunch Specials Apr. 17th – Apr. 21st

The Brattleboro VFW at 40 Black Mountain Road is open to the public for lunch. Lunch is served from 11:30 – 1:30. Specials are only $6 a plate. Burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken wings, soups and sandwiches are also available.

Impairment Is Obvious

Canada has introduced legislation to legalize and regulate marijuana by July 2018. Governor Phil Scott has said that he wants a (non-existent) roadside marijuana test to be available before he would consider signing any legalization bills in Vermont.


Brattleboro Door To Door Vendors

Brattleboro residents are notified that personnel from Integrated Solar Applications Corp., will be going door-to-door through May 31, 2017 soliciting sales of solar products. Sales personnel are required to visibly wear photo IDs. If you have any questions, contact Brattleboro Police Dispatch at 802-257-7946.
