Multi-Year Project Kicks-Off at the 2017 Brattleboro Literary Festival
Musicians and music fans 18 and under are invited to the BrattRock Lounge. The next Lounge will be held Sunday, August 13 at the newly renovated Brattleboro Boys & Girls Club from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. The Brattleboro Film Festival and The Northern Routes Film Collaborative present the 3rd Annual Summer Cinema Slam, giving Vermont artists and audiences a place to connect.
Twilight Music continues its 15th annual Twilight On The Tavern Lawn series of folk-rock, world beat, rock, pop, Celtic, blues and bluegrass summer concerts on Sunday, August 6 with contemporary bluegrass and folk music quartet The Stockwell Brothers Band. The seven concert series continues every other Sunday through August 20. All concerts begin at 6:00 pm in downtown Putney on the Putney Tavern lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) or at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in case of rain. The series is sponsored by the Town of Putney, Green Mountain Well, Soundview Paper Company, The Putney Food Co-op, The Stockwell Brothers and many other Putney businesses and organizations. Windham Regional Woodlands Association has awarded scholarships totaling $6,000 to two Brattleboro Union High School graduates who will attend college this fall. This year’s recipients are Samuel Stevens of Brattleboro, who will attend Green Mountain College, and Tanner Bell of Guilford, who will attend Unity College in Maine.

Marlboro College’s summer writing intensive connects writers who are just starting out with writers who have made a career out of the craft. Authors will be reading excerpts of their work Monday July 31 – Friday August 4th at 5 pm in the library’s main room. All of the readings are free! Marlboro’s Summer Writing Intensive this year will include a series of free, public readings by celebrated writers with military connections.
