Brattleboro Election Night Email Report – Unofficial Results

Good evening,

Please see attached for Brattleboro’s Unofficial Town Meeting Day and WSESD election results. These are the results from the ballot tallies, not including write-in votes, and not including other towns’ results for the WSESD races. The projected winners are in bold.

Note that these are numbers that were crunched after a VERY long day. I will reiterate that they are UNOFFICIAL.

Thanks to the amazing poll workers and the American Legion who made today possible! We had a lot of voters coming through the doors – 29% for Town Meeting Day and 24% for WSESD (these are high percentages for local elections). The day was smooth and safe!

Thank you,

Hilary

  • Vote

Biggest takeaway for me. Less than 1 in 3 bothered to vote. Only 29%.

    • compare with our friends north of the border

There will be an apple-to-apples comparison to the American turnout when the Liberals call for a federal election perhaps two months from now.

There’s many movements that could have traction if they found a way to get “new” voters to participate.

The low American turnout also seriously undermines the weight of those who invoke “democracy” or “democratic values” as justification.

  • of course there's no Article I count

    of course

  • Articles

My ballot started with Article II.

    Difficult to count #1

    • Innumerate Authority

July ends midday because Simon Says So and Does So With A Snark.
The ballot articles begin with 2 because Simon Says So and Does So With A Snark.

but please lecture me about difficult

  • Pretty sure...

Article 1 is electing the board, moderator, etc.
