Who is this guy?
He is a well-known Vermont personality.
Several times he ran for office on the Liberty Union ticket, but he lost.

Couldn't be... could it?
Bernard Sanders?
Bingo
Give that man a cigar!
Extra Credit?
Here’s the article where that pix recently appeared. I recommend the read.

Good article
I actually got it from the N. Y. Times:
Bernie Sanders’s Revolutionary Roots Were Nurtured in ’60s Vermont
By SARAH LYALL – JULY 3, 2015
Lots of Extra Credit!
Quite an article.
vague memory
I have a vague memory of seeing his name on campaign signs in the same yards that were sporting signs for George Bush. Was I dreaming? I hope that winning elections is not the most important qualification for running for office. If so, we are in big trouble. I believe that many of our most skilled future leaders have not yet won an election. However, I believe that he’s currently a US Senator. Go, Bernie, go.

Winning qualifications.
Winning elections is the single most important qualification for being in office.
Bernie!
That’s our next President!
Nader?
Can you say Ralph Nader?
Alternatives
You prefer Hillary? 😉
Bernie is running as a democrat and can't be a spoiler
Since he is running as a democrat, he can’t be a spoiler in the election. He has pledged to not run for president if he does not win the nomination.
That's what I thought mr.mike was referring to, also
Then I remembered that Nader also drew huge crowds at events, but it didn’t translate into votes at the polls.
