NEW VOLUNTEER ZOOM TALK SHOW HOST NEEDED FOR 2 MONTHS, HOW ABOUT YOU?
Hi! Other candidates who are not Democrats or Republicans are now complaining about being excluded from debates.
I brought debate exclusion up before here at ibrattleboro.com. I emailed other non-major party candidates but none of the other candidates responded to my emails, except one, Kerry Raheb told me to lose his number or something like that, but the rest didn’t respond at all.
Now, some are complaining on the internet, but since they didn’t respond to
my emails asking them if they would like to do a candidate forum separate
from the major party candidates, then maybe they would respond to one of YOU???
Who wants to volunteer to be a television show host for 2 months doing Zoom
candidate forums, one forum for each debate we are excluded from
under color of authority by Vermont’s news & media which discriminates against
anyone who isn’t the right shade of blue or red? Purple is not an option!
My idea is that for each and every candidate debate and forum held exclusively
for major party candidates, to which all of the other candidates for the same
office are excluded, we need to have our own community public access t.v. forums
on Zoom which can be recorded and submitted to our local access stations.
Because candidates for Federal offices. both Congress and U.S. Senate,
face the same issues, we could all appear in forums together discussing
a wide range of political ideas.
We need a trendy title for the series of debates, maybe something like:
“Dissed in Vermont” or something like that to show scorn for the lack of
inclusiveness organizations have practiced over the many years in
excluding non-major party candidates from forums.
Ericka Redic sent an email around, which was forwarded to me by someone
who knows that Ericka has not answered my emails to her. Oh boy, is she
really sulking! Ericka Redic writes, “Breaking News! Believe it or not, WDEV
and WCAX have excluded me from their debates because I am a “third” party
candidate as the Libertarian candidate.”
Gee, Ericka, didn’t I tell you that was going to happen? I’ve been calling Vermont
the little “mafia” state for years! When no one but “members” can enter the
sacred halls of political candidate debates, then there is not just a total lack
of inclusiveness, there is something more sinister going on. Politics should be
a step above fraternity house rushes, but it isn’t. Who knows what goes on behind
closed doors when different non-profits and other entities who declare they are
going to chose a candidate to endorse, after a series of questions are answered,
and then after they chose one or two candidates to interview, what promises are
made in these secret behind the scenes interviews for a candidate to be rewarded
with an endorsement?
O.K., so what I am hoping for, is for someone to step forward and to volunteer to
be a T.V. host or hostess for a series of Zoom candidate forums for the candidates
who are excluded from debates which only invite major party candidates.
We need a Zoom forum for each and every debate that the minor party and
independent candidates are excluded from. I propose a series of Zoom forums
to be recorded, downloaded and then uploaded to local community public access
television stations around Vermont. I am hoping that the volunteer will think of a
glaring name for the show series, maybe “The Underdogs, Part 1”, etc.
