I-91
Northbound I-91 traffic has been relocated onto the southbound bridge. Traffic will remain reduced to one lane in each direction on I-91 until completion of the new bridge. The new bridge will be 104’ wide and is designed to carry all four lanes of traffic –two northbound and two southbound.
To reduce congestion on I-91, both Exit 3 on ramps will be closed on Sunday, August 21st, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. I-91 will remain open.
Route 30
The speed limit on Route 30 near the work zone has been reduced to 40 mph. Project-related truck activity on Route 30 will continue. Route 30 may be reduced to a single lane intermittently, with flaggers regulating traffic within the work zone.
The following dates Route 30, under I-91 Brattleboro will be closed from approximately 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. to ensure the safety of the traveling public while work occurs on the new bridge.

T minus ?
The two sides are really getting close. Looks like they will be meeting up in the next month or so.
Anyone else amazed at the engineering that supports the unfinished highway out over the river? Gives me confidence about driving over it in the future. One column could crumble and the other would still hold up most of the road. (not all of course, brakes would be necessary!)
Engineering
I’ve found the Trail Talks absolutely fascinating. The original bridge was designed for a 50 year lifespan, and this one is made for 100 years. Overengineered to the point where it could if necessary support 4 lanes of traffic both ways, not that we’d ever want that. It really blows my mind that the edges, as thin as they look, are made to be able to hold up tractor trailer trucks.
A question for the trail talk
When will the two spans meet up in the middle?
A State of Collapse - The Threat of Being Functionally Obsolete
Good bridge, bad bridge; new bridge, old bridge.
Maybe we should have a heart to heart talk with NH, while we have time…
