The stairwell on the east side of the Brattleboro Transportation Center will be closed temporarily to allow for a complete replacement of the stair unit. In addition, there will be a temporary closure of the rear potion of the alleyway between 77 Flat Street and 64 Elliot Street to protect the public during construction and to allow crews unobstructed access the job site. The work will be performed by Wright Construction of Mt. Holly, Vermont.
The project is expected to commence construction on May 2, 2016 at 8:00am. The project will continue until complete with an anticipated completion date of no later than May 31st, 2016. Parking vehicles in the Brattleboro Transportation Center will not be affected by the stairwell closure, however pedestrians seeking to exit the facility will be limited to the western stairwell. The elevator adjacent to the affected stairwell should remain open throughout the majority of the project, but may also be closed off to public access for short periods of time, and only on a limited basis.
We regret the inconvenience that this temporary closure will provide to the public and will reopen the stairwell at the earliest possible opportunity. Please direct questions or concerns to the Town Manager’s Office at 251-8151. Thank you.
