Bridge Street at the Route 119 Bridge to New Hampshire will have temporary road closures on Thursday, November 13, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.. The road will be closed at times to expedite replacement of the damaged guardrail at the entrance to the bridge. During these closures, there will be no through vehicle traffic but pedestrians will still be able to access the sidewalk across the bridge. The Brattleboro Police Department will be on site during this project to ensure traffic flow; emergency vehicles will have access to the road to Hinsdale.
Local business traffic to Depot Street, Barrows and Fisher, and the Whetstone Brewery will be allowed.
Motorists can expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes during these hours.
Any questions about this project can be answered by calling the Department of Public Works, 802-254-4255.

Trivia buffs
When was the last time the bridge to Hinsdale was closed?
No guesses?
I have a semi-official estimate from the DPW as to the last closing.
Any final guesses before I share it?
1938
When the hurricane came, and washed away many a small island, and bridge on the Conn River.
Good guess
… but it was more recent than the hurricane of ’38.
