Just found myself driving behind a Vermont state trooper vehicle. It was an unmarked van, but the plate said that it was a state trooper plate, #530.
It also had an expired sticker, indicating the vehicle needed to be renewed a few months ago, by 10/16.
I was tempted to pull them over and issue a warning, but my car has yet to be fit up for such purposes.
Issue a warning?
No Chris, you should have made them stop driving, leave their car, and offer to call a tow truck.
That is what a Bennington office did to me when he spotted an expired registration sticker a few years ago. It made no sense to me that you can get a warning or a ticket for an expired inspection sticker, which means that you are driving vehicle which is potentially unsafe, but you may not drive away with a ticket or warning if your registration is expired, which is sort of equivalent to reading an expired library book.
