“UPDATE #2:
The Brattleboro Police Department and the Vermont State Police continue to investigate the untimely death of Sultan Rashed. Investigation has revealed that this death is not a suicide and in fact a death with suspicious circumstances. Investigation suggests this is not a random act and does not suggest any threats to the public in general. An autopsy is scheduled for today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and will focus on the cause and manner of death.
Anyone who had contact with Sultan Rashed from 11/8/15 – 11/9/15 is asked to contact the Vermont State Police or the Brattleboro Police Department.

UPDATE:
The Brattleboro Police Department and the Vermont State Police continue to investigate the untimely death on Old Ferry Road in the town of Brattleboro, VT. The scene was processed by the Vermont State Police Crime Scene Search Team in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office. The deceased has been identified as Sultan Rashed, age35, of Brattleboro, VT. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday November 10th. The investigation into the cause and manner of Rashed’s death continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brattleboro Police at 257-7950 or the Vermont State Police at 254-2382

UNTIMELY DEATH INVESTIGATION
Brattleboro, VT – The Vermont State Police and the Brattleboro Police Department are jointly investigating an untimely death on Old Ferry Road, in the town of Brattleboro, VT. Brattleboro Police officers were called this morning to a location on Old Ferry Road for a medical emergency. Upon arrival officers found a lone male deceased in a vehicle. Rescue Personnel also responded and confirmed this death.
The identity of the deceased and cause of death is the subject of this joint investigation. The Vermont State Police-Crime Scene Search Team has been activated and is processing the scene. A press release will be issued with an update when information becomes available.

UPDATE #3:
Preliminary autopsy results in the death investigation of Sultan Rashed indicate the cause of death to be gunshot, and the manner to be homicide. The investigation is on-going. Detectives continue to seek information, and encourage anyone who had contact with Mr. Rashed from 11/8 – 11/9 to contact the Vermont State Police or the Brattleboro Police Department.
Investigation suggests this is not a random act. While no one is in custody, nothing in the investigation thus far suggests any specific threat to the general public.”
