Compassionate Dining Helps Brattleboro Businesses Thrive By Increasing Plant-Based Food Options
Brattleboro, VT – Compassionate Brattleboro is excited to announce the launch of Compassionate Dining (compassionatedining.com). This volunteer group is inspiring people to eat compassionately, sustainably, and healthfully by increasing the availability of plant-based dining options. This work helps businesses–and the community at-large–thrive by fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for locals and visitors alike.
Business partners are being added every day and now include High Thai, India Masala House, Superfresh!, Tavernier Chocolates, and Vegan A.F. These businesses are showing off their participation by displaying the Compassionate Dining certificate and, during April, many of them will put up smiling carrot balloons to call attention to their delicious plant-based offerings.
As this new project kicks off Compassionate Dining is inviting everyone to enter their raffle for a $30 gift card to a local restaurant featured on compassionatedining.com. People are encouraged to submit to compassionatedining@gmail.com a copy of their receipt showing the purchase of a vegan item, a photo of the restaurant’s menu, or a photo of themselves eating a plant-based meal at the restaurant. Submissions by May 15th, winner chosen at random will be contacted by May 31st.
Additionally, Compassionate Dining volunteers will be tabling at the Brattleboro Food Co-op on Saturday, April 26th, 2-6pm to share information about the initiative, the raffle, upcoming events, and participating businesses. Future projects include ticketed dinners and tasting tours with partnered businesses. The group looks forward to promoting vegan-friendly businesses to the local community and beyond, so that the area is a flourishing destination and place to call home.
Thanks to a grant from A Well-Fed World, Compassionate Dining’s volunteers have received training from Vegan Hospitality. “We are prepared to help businesses review their menus, become knowledgeable about serving vegan and vegan-curious guests, craft new plant-based offerings, and so much more,” says Lindsey Britt, founding member and Vegan Hospitality Consultant. “This is a great opportunity for businesses to access free support to grow their market and we hope they’ll take advantage of the resources we’re sharing.” To access these complimentary services interested businesses are invited to get in touch by using the contact form on compassionatedining.com.
