Dan Normandeau, President of Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation announced today that the Board has selected Adam Grinold of Wilmington as the next Executive Director. The position has been vacant since May. Stephan Morse has served as Interim Director and conducted the search.
In making this announcement Normandeau said, “We had some great candidates to choose from and I am excited about our decision. I look forward to working with Adam in the upcoming year as we strive to improve the regional economy through working with our existing businesses, helping to create new business ventures and attracting people and businesses who want to relocate to our region.”
BDCC received several qualified applications, but the Board felt that what tilted the scale in Grinold’s favor is his knowledge of the area, his business experience and his knowledge of the organization as well as the work in progress – Adam serves as the Chairman of the SeVEDS Board, an economic development organization within BDCC.
Grinold is currently Executive Director of Wilmington Works and previously served as Executive Director of the Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Board concluded that Grinold has familiarity in many areas that BDCC offers the region: property management, managing staff, managing budgets and knowledge of state and federal programs. His previous grant writing knowledge will also serve the organization well. Normandeau commented that Grinold’s experience will help the BDCC and all its programs to grow and to serve the community at a higher level.
BDCC is a sixty year old regional development corporation that offers 490,000 square feet business rental space to 130 businesses. It is the second largest regional development corporation in Vermont and operates several other programs including SeVEDS, a CDBG federal flood grant relief program, an internship program that links up local businesses with the five regional colleges and a workforce development program.
