A new eatery is open downtown: Hazel, 75 Elliott Street. Soft opening.
Pizza, BBQ, sandwiches, salads. Some interesting sides: poutine, collards. And some interesting pizza ingredients: Grafton cheddar, pulled pork, crushed peanuts. No anchovies. Kids menu. All sandwiches and pizzas available gluten-free, or gluten-full.
This message presented in the spare style of Hazel’s storefront and interior.

Sandwitches? Just wondering
Sandwitches?
Just wondering if they meant sandwiches
Perhaps someone should let them know about the typo in their menu
The food looks good, the hours are smart, the typographical error is
unfortunate.
Playful spelling?
I noticed that, too but I thought it was intentional -meant to be playful in keeping with the look of the rest of their menu. Either way the menu sounds great – looking forward to trying it.
I wondered about that also,
I wondered about that also, perhaps it was intentional. Loved the robot, at any rate we’ll be trying it since they have the wings. I think the hours are brilliant for downtown, staying open a little later than most is a very good idea.
Hazel's spelling disorder
What, there’s no T in Sandwitch? Curse you autofill!
Seriously, our webmaster was very drunk when he put this together and now he’s on a round-the-world apology tour. As soon as he gets back we’ll fix the spelling, grammar, offensive art, everything. Promise. Now, go eat some pizza!
See you at Hazel. Nice Place. Good Food.
Hazel's spelling disorder
So when he sobers up he could also look at Eliott Street, Caeser Salad, and Parmesian.
Not to be picky or anything.
Does the spelling matter so
Does the spelling matter so much? We have a new restaurant in town- the menu sounds great- the prices are good and it will be nice to be able to get some BBQ in downtown Brattleboro. Can we all just relax about the typos?
Love it
This is such a public radio listener thing you are doing here. I crowd sourced a copy edit of our website on twitter and received PAGES of corrections and helpful suggestions. We basically put up a draft of our website because we’ve been too busy to do anything about it. Does it matter? No it does not. Pizza matters. Ribs and Chicken matter. Wings, oh wings, you matter so….
the only thing...
that has to be right is the hours. so i know when i can come get beer, wings, pork butt, and pizza!
(hey, how about posting the hours on your door….!)
Working on it!
Hours on the door, check. The hours on the website are correct. We did get that right. And the robot.

You are absolutely correct -
You are absolutely correct – a few typos (intentional or not) do not matter even a little. What matters is having a friendly, family style restaurant downtown that has good food at good prices. Doesn’t matter how you spell it as long as it tastes delicious! Welcome to Brattleboro, Hazel!
Eye doant thing sew.
No, I changed my mind. Spelling does matter. A sandwich is food and condiments wedged between two slices of bread, something that’s both handy and tasty.
A sandwitch is a magical desert-dwelling crone. They’re likely to be dangerous and unsanitary, and I would never order one in a restaurant.
It’s best not to confuse the two.
Nice meal at Hazel over the
Nice meal at Hazel over the weekend. Being greeted by a little kid was a nice touch, shows the family-friendly nature of the establishment. BYOB from the Indo, pulled pork and good times. Sounds like full booze license is coming soon.
Hazel's Center for Thinking Locally, Acting Globally
Three cheers for Hazel, Brattleboro’s new eatery!
Where friendly service, good food, and cool urban scenery
Are part of the package — an impressive one, too…
Try their Pizza, or Pulled Pork, or (yum!) BBQ.
Their Sand Witches rock — and there’s juice and ice tea,
Or a local craft beer (but it’s BYOB).
Come give Hazel a try. You’ll like what you find.
It’s a great place to eat, relax, and unwind….
And folks, let me share with you really good news:
This new restaurant Hazel espouses strong views
About the importance of supporting us locals
In our efforts to act in a way that’s more global…
A few of us burn fryer oil in our cars
And to power our vehicles, we look near and far
For restaurant owners who’ll give us their grease
And their used fryer oil — and in doing so, ease
Our dependence on oil that’s foreign and dirty
In exchange for something with much cleaner purity.
And this is exactly what Hazel now does!
They give us their used fryer oil, because
They support and believe in what we’re trying to do…
So to Hazel’s we owe an enormous “Thank You!”
(Regarding the climate: I just have to warn ya
Temps are coming that rival south California.
Join us in trying to be part of the solution —
Become part of the “Eat At Hazel’s!” revolution!)
