Arundhati Roy: ‘Civil Rights Movement Has Become a Support US-NATO Wars Movement’

Bill Quiqley renown law professor and  Associate Legal Director  of Center for Constitutional Rights concludes in his topical 4th of July article, Sixty Five Million Left Out of July 4,’ “This July 4 can be an opportunity to remember them and rededicate ourselves and our country to making these promises real for all people in the US.” [http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article38968.htm]

Your author, an expat American with Korean and Vietnamese family and friends throughout the 66 nations he has worked in – most all bombed by his fellow Americans, suggests, that as Martin Luther King said, the priority of massive life saving through enforcing the laws of humanity is morally and infinitely more important to be advocating firstly and before one’s own community’s selfish concerns. Nothing is more precious life itself. Nothing of greater satisfation than saving someone else’s life.

King also warned, in indisputable logic ignored by ‘American first’ social activists, ‘no  progress will be made with issues of social justice at home while Americans kill the poor overseas at a cost in human and financial resources that prohibits such progress.’ [sermon ‘Beyond Vietnam – a Time to Break Silence, 4/4/1967]

To the distraction away from the continuously ongoing US-NATO genocide, which citizens in the plundering First World, including Bill Quigley, are in one way or another participants in (King held himself responsible for America’s atrocity wars and covert violence on three continents for predatory investments) , Prof. Bill Quigley would have us focuses on a better life for Americans (before and after they return from murdering majority mankind in their very own homes).

Who is more guilty that a world wide genocide for profit continues? Is it the poor puppet sold-their-souls officials in banks, in government, in military, kids pulling triggers and pressing buttons, media and CIA spooks that are most responsible or the most informed and accomplished intellectuals of the First (and Plundering) World of the mostly Caucasian populated nations like Bill Quigley, who distract their readers into thinking cruelly and selfishly only of social inequities in the First World homeland.
Arundhati Roy in her latest book (walking with comrades) “Capitalism: A Ghost Story” denounces civil rights leaders for turning potential revolutionaries into supporter of wars that do more than just crush the civil rights of the poor overseas, who are mass murdered  for speculative banking capital gains.

In the nascent USA, it began with the African slave trade genocide, and marched forward with the genocide of Native Americans, then Mexicans, then Filipinos, then Chinese, followed by the genocidal loans to extend World War One, continuing to facilitate the genocide of World War Two and Holocaust through the heartless investments and joint venturing to build the Nazi Wehrmacht up to number one military power in the world, and once the USA of Wall Street became the single superpower as a result of mega enormous profits from the death of fifty million human beings, began the colonial-neocolonial genocide from the bombing of Koreans in Korea through the bombing and CIA destruction of Libya and today’s funding of genocide in Syria, Iraq and twelve years of murdering Afghanis in their own country and furious bombing throughout the Middle East for oil profits.

A sure cure for the daft 4th of July celebration of this birth of the ‘United States of Genocide’ is a reading of peoples historian Howard Zinn’s “A Peoples History of the United States,” published in seventeen languages.

A 4th of July remembrance and rededication more appropriate to one’s own humanity would be for Americans to awake themselves from the farcical deadly and insidious false propaganda seeded and psyoped into the minds of children that the killing of the poor in their own beloved countries overseas is a good thing, and to call to call for prosecution of citizens responsible and participating in US-NATO’s sixty-five years of crimes against humanity and to call for compensation and reparations court mandated for the millions of US-NATO’s victims. This is an American value your author was taught at his father’s knee, in school and in church.

Once the balance of power in the world has shifted sufficiently , a reconstituted UN will create a special Nuremberg Principles Court for Genocide. One day thereafter, a new United States of North America will be born, and perhaps a second birthday will be celebrated with new flag expressing the beauty, peace and brotherhood heard in a new national anthem, the lovely song, “America,” made popular in your author’s time by Ray Charles.
