Dreams of Home: A Community Dialogue on Homelessness
October 26, 2013
Brattleboro Retreat, Brattleboro, VT
Visiting presenter, Deborah Anna Luepnitz, PhD, discusses her work with the homeless in Philadelphia by first sharing a video about Project HOME, considered to be a highly successful organization for ending homelessness. Dr. Luepnitz also discussed her own inspiration, an association of therapists who provide free counseling to the homeless. Later, Dr. Luepnitz is joined in a moderated panel discussion by Windham County leaders with a shared conviction that we must act, pool our resources and work for systemic change to end homelessness. This panel includes: Knowles Wentworth, community outreach program coordinator for Healthcare & Rehabilitation Services; Lucie Fortier, executive director of the Brattleboro Area Drop-In Center; Joshua Davis, executive director of Morningside Shelter; and Whitney Nichols, consumer advocate and member of the Brattleboro Retreat’s Consumer Advisory Council.
