DESCRIPTION:
No calls for vengeance or justice for Chileans murdered on the 9/11 arranged, funded, and facilitated in 1973 by the Nixon-Kissinger, administration to benefit and protect vast US corporate investments in that country. No attempts through courts for compensation for wrongful death, injury and suffering. More than 2 million innocent Muslims lives taken and hailed as payback for 9/11/2001. Prosecutable crime against humanity!
TEXT:
On 9/11/2001, nineteen suicide bombers, almost all from Saudi Arabia, brought death to 2,623 Americans and 373 citizens of foreign countries at the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. in what their spokesperson described as of retaliatory intention for years of American attacks on citizens and their families in Muslin countries.
Though no US action was taken against Saudi Arabia, from where came all but two of the suicide attackers (and much of US oil imports as well), hundreds of thousands of Americans in the US Armed Forces and perhaps as much as a hundred million Americans have been made to believe by corporate investor owned media’a constant referral to the 9/11 attack of 2001, that US military action against Afghanis, Iraqis, Pakistanis, Yemenis, Somalis, maybe Libyans and Syrians as well, which have now taken more than two million lives, is, in some way or another, seen as payback for the 9/11.
The many times more deadlier CIA arranged and funded 9/11 attack on Chile in 1973, which began with the Chilean Air Force bombing the Presidential Palace at the request of the army, was for the successful overthrow of a popularly elected socialist government and “meant to maintain unjust predatory investments,” or at least that is what Martin Luther King Jr. had cried out in regard to all America’s illegal atrocity wars and covert homicide in his sermon ‘Beyond Vietnam, a Time to Break Silence’ six years and a half years earlier.
If there has been any talk of vengeance for, or prosecution of, this US crime against humanity America committed on a 9/11 in Santiago, Chile, back in 1973, this writer has not heard of it. This ‘9/11’ that America put on little Chile was a horrific and massive country wide crime continued on beyond the bombing of the Presidential Palace and the murder of the popular elected President of Chile, Dr. Salvator Allende M.D., on the ninth of September, through seventeen years of systematic torture, murder or disappearance of tens of thousands of Chileans and the hunting down and murder of Chilean citizens in many countries abroad until 1990, when the Chilean people put and end to it.
To your author’s knowledge, no calls from Chilean leaders have been heard for vengeance and justice for the Chileans murdered on, and as a result of, the 9/11 of 1973 arranged, funded, facilitated and collaborated by the Nixon-Kissinger administration to benefit and protect vast American corporate investments in that country. Also, no attempts through courts for compensation for wrongful death, injury and suffering, except a lawsuit against Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger by the family of the assassinated General Schneider before and in preparation for the Chilean 9/11.
Juan Garcés, author of ‘Allende,’ and one of closest Allende’s advisers until his murder on September 11, 1973, describes: “The presidential palace was being bombed by the Pinochet forces and Salvador Allende [who would die within hours] was surrounded by advisers. Allende walked Juan Garcés to the door and said, “Tell the world”.
The speculative investment bankers who own or control most US media and information sources with world-wide satellite reach and, for whom the vast public, private and self-funded CIA has made sure that ‘most of the world will not to told,’ of the 9/11 Chile has suffered. For the same reason, the world has been carefully not reminded that six and a half years earlier Martin Luther King Jr. in world shaking sermon, held ‘America and Americans (including himself) responsible for atrocity wars and covert violence on three continents meant to maintain unjust predatory investments. In his Beyond Vietnam a Time to Break Silence King had anguished over Americans participating, supporting, acquiescing to and not conscientiously objecting to these atrocities being criminally ordered by his government, which he dismissed as the greatest purveyor [not cause] of violence in the world.’ [read, hear King’s Beyond Vietnam sermon

In praising and hailing the illegal, undeclared, unconstitutional US Wars and genocidal foreign policy on the poorer countries of the now neo-colonized mostly non-white Majority Mankind, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS, NPR, The New York Times, its owned Washington Post, Herald Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, sex and sports tabloids like the NY Daily News, NY Post, and the conglomerated radio stations across the nation are by Mussolini’s definition of the word, fascist. They operate as fascist cartel unwaveringly uncritical of US foreign policy, disinforming by presenting news out of context and slanted according to the needs of the criminal investment plans of what FDR described as “a financial element in the centers of power that has owned the government since the days of Andrew Jackson.”
However, it is a long road that has no turning, and this writer expects an eventual trial of America and Americans for Crimes Against Humanity and Crimes Against Peace, will see more false war propaganda fabricating celebrity anchors, commentators, publishers, editors and journalists indicted than were indicted at the first and insufficient Nuremberg Principles Trials. At Nuremberg only five Nazi media personalities were tried and convicted, and the bankers and industrialists who made fortunes building the Nazi war machine up to world #1 in but a few years, were left free to continue criminal investing. These continuing investments in war since 1945 have been a misfortune for many millions of men, women and children killed in their own beloved countries in invasions and bombings by Americans in uniform. Recalling the coup-hours, Hugh O’Shaughnessy writes in The Observer, UK:
“Admiral Gustavo Carvajal, one of the plotters, was on the phone to Allende offering him a plane if he would leave the country. But the president was trenchant: ‘Who do you think you are, you treacherous shits? Stuff your plane up your arses! You are talking to the president of the republic! And the president elected by the people doesn’t surrender.’”
Hugh, who was in the Chilean capital during those disastrous days, saw “the flames continuing to consume the Presidential Palace. Under curfew the stadium began filling with Pinochet’s prisoners: some were summarily shot, others were sent to concentration camps in the Atacama deserts of the north or the frigid sub-Antarctic south.
“On 21 September 1970, Allende had been declared victor of clean elections, but before he took over the presidency, after a fruitless effort by Chilean conservatives and their US allies to have the victory declared unconstitutional, Edward Korry, the US ambassador in Santiago, reported to Henry Kissinger, the foreign strategist of President Richard Nixon: ‘Once Allende comes to power we shall do all within our power to condemn Chile and the Chileans to utmost deprivation and poverty’.
“A few days earlier Richard Helms, director of the CIA, had scribbled notes on a meeting in Washington with Nixon, Kissinger and John Mitchell, the US attorney general, where the president demanded a coup. They read: ‘One in 10 chance perhaps, but save Chile! /worth spending /not concerned risks involved /no involvement of embassy /$10,000,000 available, more if necessary/ best men we have/ game plan/ make the economy scream /48 hours for plan of action.’” [from CIA files declassified under freedom of information act suit.]
The journalist sketches the murderers’ post-coup job:
Hugh, the author of ‘Pinochet, The Politics of Torture’ (Latin America Bureau and New York University Press) describes a few of those facts in short and throws a question:
“Pinochet and his cohorts, well favoured now by Washington, turned to making themselves fortunes from the privatisation of public services and, quietly, from the trade in cocaine from Bolivia which the US never seemed to want to criticise or attack.”
“So confident was Pinochet in his protectors in ‘the free world’ that on 17 September 1976 he ordered the killing of Orlando Letelier, Allende’s former defence minister, with a bomb planted in his car in Sheridan Circle in the diplomatic heart of Washington itself. Such an atrocity, had it been committed by any Arab or Iranian, or indeed a Muslim of any persuasion, would have brought down instant punishment, or even war. But Pinochet was in no danger. After all, he had been Nixon’s man all along.” (ibid.)
So, ITT stepped in in the regime change game. The company owned telephone companies in Chile. The ITT-CIA alliance got activated. More than 40 meetings between CIA and ITT officials were held. ITT wanted to start funneling secret funds to Allende’s opponent in the 1970 election. One of the first documents that came out on US intervention in Chile was the ITT memos recording ITT’s meetings with the CIA and the US ambassador.
El Mercurio, a mass media group, asked for US intervention. The media group had relations with business houses that had private investments in Chile.
Intrigues were wider and deeper. In an October day in 1970, General René Schneider, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Chile, was murdered in daylight on a street. In ‘The Pinochet File’: Peter Kornbluh has documented these. The assassination was part of a CIA operation to instigate a coup, to create a coup-climate so that Allende could be stopped from being inaugurated. The Pinochet File also tells: CIA paid the assassins of Schneider $35,000 to close their mouths about the US role and to help them escape from Chile.
The Church Committee, the US Senate committee led by Senator Frank Church, investigated US intervention in Chile in the mid-1970s, and it was found that the CIA funded an institute that was preparing for a coup, that did compile lists of both civilians and people inside the Allende government that would need to be taken care of in the event of a coup.
During the Pinochet-era, Amnesty International says, “[t]ens of thousands of people were detained, tortured, killed or disappeared. … To date, at least 262 individuals have been sentenced for human rights violations but there are more than 1,100 open judicial proceedings.
