There’s a green neon sign that says MARKETPLACE, and below and towards the back the River Garden sign remains.
What’s going on with this space? I assume it closed last year when the pandemic hit, but I haven’t heard any news about it for quite awhile.
Beer
The Whetstone Station folks have bought it and got a liquor license. Their beer empire expands. (Heifers came to an end there…)
When they were in front of the Selectboard they said it would be reimagined space to handle various events, have some booths for shops (I think), and generally be similar to what has been there before, except now it is for-profit. They said the beer sales would have to cover most of the costs.
Beer, Music, More
Here is what the Whetstone has posted on Facebook –
We’re making major renovations and small touches on River Garden Marketplace, former home of Strolling with the Heifers. This exciting town hub will feature Hand Built Market’s
local art, handmade goods, lovingly curated vintage, private event spaces as well as a legit 200+ capacity venue where we’ll eventually host comedy and live music including the remaining to engagements of our Rock the Lot series.
