Looking for top quality bare-root fruit trees and unusual perennials to start or expand your home orchard or garden? Place an online order by April 30, with pick up by appointment May 2 or 3 at Scott Farm Orchard!
In response to COVID-19, Scott Farm’s annual Fruit Tree and Perennial Sale will take place online this year (instead of on May 2). We are offering a wide selection of bare root and potted fruit trees and perennials to include: Heirloom Apple Trees, Common Apple Trees, Stone Fruit and Pear Trees, Potted Fig Trees, Blueberry Bushes, Heirloom Apple Scions, Orchard Products, and Perennials.
Orders can be placed online through April 30. Pick up will take place at the farm by appointment, at 10 minute intervals between 9am-5pm, on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3. Upon placing an order, customers will be prompted to sign up for a pick up slot.
Dwarf fruit trees?
I do not see anything on the site offering dwarf trees, which I think are great because the fruit is more easily accessible. Also there is almost nothing on the site, not even a link to a video, about taking care of fruit trees.
Scott Farm is a great resource to our community, and I guess the actual production of fruit is more important than public relations; yet I still think that vital information and communication are also important.
They give you a Care Sheet
I was browsing the Scott Farm site looking at what they had, and noticed this at the top of the tree and shrub pages:
“Upon arrival at the farm to pick up your trees, we will provide a sheet of fruit tree care information. We’ll also be happy to answer any questions as the time allows. If you need any further advice or run into questions, don’t hesitate to email us or call (802) 254-6868.”
So I think if you have questions in advance, you might be able to call or email them.
