The Elephant in the Room
Off in a corner
in the midst of a mid-town cocktail party,
sits a shy young lady with a small animal
Wrapped in a muff,
Sitting on her lap.
It is a tiny elephant.
No one notices.
Nor do they notice the herd of 18-ton elephants in the room,
thundering through the room,
demonic forces, Issued forth from one’s sister-in-law on a visit:
She is the one of us most desperately hurt.
oops
Last line should be:
She is the one of us most desperately hurt.
(Perhaps the administrator could correct the original.”
