Puppets in Paradise, Sandglass Theater’s most beloved community event and biennial fundraiser, returns for its 8th edition. Now in partnership with Retreat Farm in Brattleboro, this year welcomes an exciting roster of first-time and returning performers including Joshua Holden, Chad Williams, Finn Campman, Liz Joyce, Faye Dupras, Rose Friedman and Justin Lander, Honey Goodenough, Cynthia Parker-Houghton, Eva Lansberry, Elena Day, Julia J. Slone and Sandglass co-founders Eric Bass and Ines Zeller Bass. Each company will perform four times and the puppet parade will process three times throughout each day. Please allow 2 hours to experience all of the shows.
In addition to the short form puppet shows, Sandglass is pleased to announce the musicians and food trucks joining us at Puppets in Paradise:
In the main courtyard musical entertainment will be an accordion welcome by Robert Tucker. Saturday’s performances are by: Ben Carr and Melissa Dawson, and The DiTrani Brothers. Sunday will present Larry Siegel and Laurie Indenbaum, and Singcrony (Ruth Allard, Andrea Matthews, Carrie Walker, Beth Kiendl).
This year the event will also feature four exciting food trucks each day, including: Mach’s Mobile Wood Fired Pizza, Dosa Kitchen, Jamaican Jewelz, Grafton Market, and Cai’s Dim Sum Teahouse & Catering.
Audiences will walk around the farm and encounter short form puppet performances, theater artists and musicians amidst the fields, historic barns and animals. Puppetry performances will repeat throughout the day across the property.
