Bennis is a fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) in Washington, DC, where she focuses on the Middle East, particularly Palestinian rights, U.S. militarism, and the UN. She will be introduced by her IPS colleague and local author, Chuck Collins. The talk, followed by a Q&A.

With a legacy of activism and decades of expertise, Bennis will discuss her latest book, which unpacks the history that led to this moment and examines conditions in Gaza before October 7, 2023. The book addresses the roots of Palestinian resilience and the global movement for ceasefire and justice, including South Africa’s initiative at the World Court.

Bennis is an international adviser to Jewish Voice for Peace, a fellow of the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam, and was twice short-listed to become the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. She appears regularly on Al Jazeera, CNN, NPR, Democracy Now!, MSNBC, and other national and international media.
