HatchSpace

22 High Street Brattleboro

Learn. Get started with turning making beautiful objects through spindle turning! In this two-day intensive, you will make a French rolling pin, a bottle opener/ice cream scoop, a carver’s mallet and a holiday tree. You will begin the class with an introduction to the tools: the lathe, the gouges and the chucks. Then you will learn how to mount the spindle on the lathe, and how to use gouses and calipers to design your piece. Through practice, you will make (at least!) each of the four projects, with opportunities to continue or fine tune a piece.

Make. A rolling pin, an ice cream scoop, a mallet and a holiday tree made of birch.
