Introduction to Kumiko: Asa-No-Ha Pattern |(One Day)

Learn. Originating in Japan more than a millennium ago, Kumiko is an intricate form of lattice work that draws inspiration from the natural world and uses geometry and angles to reveal forms of nature. Examples of these patterns resemble cherry blossoms or hemp leaves. 

This course is entirely hand tool-based. Students should be comfortable with hand tools such as chisels. Having patience and applying attention to detail are key.

Make. Students will leave with an Asa-No-Ha Pattern Kumiko Square.
