Learn. Become comfortable with one of the primary tools in carving spoons from trees – the hatchet. In this class, we will learn the ins and outs of hatchet use and maintenance by axing out a spoon blank from a branch. We will then learn to use the straight knife (sloyd knife) by axing out and carving a butter knife. No prior experience necessary – all learning levels welcomed!
Make. Students will leave the class with a spoon blank (ax’ed out but not carved) and a carved butter knife, ready to mix nut butters and spread jams on toast.

Saturday, October 12  |  10am – 5pm  |  Class will break for a 1/2 hour lunch.

Cost: $165 members: $195 non-members.
What to Bring: Bring a bag lunch, or you may visit nearby downtown Brattleboro to purchase lunch.
