Make. This course equips students with spindle-cutting techniques using chisel and gouge, honing wood shaping precision. The focus is on mastering the bevel to guide knife edges, improving tool control. Participants will practice by creating totems, solidifying learned skills. The process starts with roughing a blank cylinder, refining using planing, chamfer, and peeling cuts with a skew chisel and detail gouge. The totems made can be used as references for future projects.
Learn. After mastering these basics, potential projects like candlesticks, cooking flippers, and bud vases are introduced, inspiring students to create unique spindle pieces
