Build a Wooden Automaton Box: April School Vacation Camp for Tweens

Discover how sculptures come to life! Join our one-week school vacation camp in partnership with Brattleboro’s River Gallery School of Art and learn how to create your very own wooden automaton. Imagine designing a bird that soars, a snake that slithers, or even a dragon that opens its mouth to spit fire! Each morning, you’ll explore your creative ideas at River Gallery School, designing your moving sculpture. Then, after lunch, you’ll walk to our woodshop at HatchSpace where you’ll build a wooden box and the mechanics that make your creation move.

This class combines art, engineering, and hands-on fun—perfect for curious minds aged 9 to 13. Enroll now and let your imagination take flight as you learn the secrets behind making artwork move.
