The Brattleboro Area Techies group is doing a survey of folks who might be interested in a downtown Co-Working/Makerspace/Office Space
Go to this Google Survey link.
We’ll keep it up until 2015!

Information please
I began to take the survey, but then stopped when I realized that I do not understand the concept well enough to voice an informed opinion.
What models already exist for shared workspaces and shared marketplaces? If we could have some idea of what type of arrangements may be possible, then our participation in the survey could be more meaningful. The basic concept does sound quite appealing, and I wish the project organizers success. I know the young man who is leading this effort, and think that his involvement is a good portent.
Makers
My understanding is that it is a survey asking if Brattleboro would like and or use a shared work space in the downtown area.
The survey mentions three possibilities – co-working, maker space and office space. The shared co-working and office space is probably obvious (would anyone like a place to go, use a desk, have a good internet connection, and do work with others).
The maker space is where the range of possibilities really expands – does the town want a shared electronics lab? A chemistry set-up? An observatory? A 3-D printer? Drones? Robots? Tool benches? Test equipment? Soldering guns? Welding tools?
If you do an internet search for Maker or Maker Fair you will fall into a deep pool of possibilities and information.
