Sovernet users are being hit with what appears to be an email scam know as “phishing” in which a scammer tries to get you to give up your email address and account information. I’ve gotten a few of these in the past couple of days.
The email says:
Dear User,
Your e-mail will expire soon.
To avoid any interruption please click the link below and upgrade your e-mail

Sovernet Communications
The problem is, Sovernet did not send this email.
Rolling a cursor over the embedded link in the email (disabled above, but working in email messages sent) shows that rather than a link to Sovernet, you’d be directed to a different site entirely.
Sovernet has a warning on their site that reminds customers that they never requesr passwords or personal information in email. This email avoids those tricks by trying to get you to visit a phony site, in this case one owned by somebody in Saudi Arabia, according to domain name records. Once there, if you login you will give away your account info to strangers.
If you get an email like this, do not click on the link.
