We have you covered from Brattleboro to Chester to Wilmington!  With a lunchtime concert, featured local composers, world class musicians, a special children’s performance, and two concerts to support the hungry in our community  —  there is something for everyone.  Come join us and enjoy!

Composers in Our Midst
Sunday, March 16, 7 pm, Centre Congregational Church, Brattleboro, VT
Brattleboro Music Center hosts “Composers in Our Midst” featuring the works of New England composers.  The daylong event includes master classes, a student recital and an evening performance, all featuring a wide variety of instrumental and vocal pieces by regional composers. “Composers in Our Midst” is a celebration of musical collaborations drawing together the vast compositional and musical talents in our region. The evening concert will feature 12 professional musicians and the works of 7 “local” composers.  View featured composers and musicians. Special benefit concert for Senior Meals and Meals on Wheels. Enjoy a prepared meal and live music at the beautiful Latchis Theatre during your lunch hour, and support meals for senior while doing so. Program includes:  “Citizen” Composer Jeff Stamler’s Bossa Nova (premiere)
, Dan Seiden’s Blues for Orchestra (premiere), Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F, Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite
, and the Windham Orchestra’s Youth Concerto Competition Co-Winner Nate Steele, cello. Windham Orchestra in Chester: A MAGIC GARDEN

The Windham Orchestra performs in Chester, VT.  Program includes: “Citizen” Composer Jeff Stamler’s Bossa Nova (premiere)
, Dan Seiden’s Blues for Orchestra (premiere), Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F, Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite
.  The concert also features the Windham Orchestra’s Youth Concerto Competition Winners Alexander “Sasha” Yakub, violin, Saint-Saens’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso; and  Nathaniel Steele, cello, Saint-Saens Cello Concerto No. 1, Allegro Molto. The Windham Orchestra invites you to “name your ticket price,” ranging from $5 – $65 (open seating). BMC Chamber Series: ESCHER STRING QUARTET

The Escher String Quartet has received acclaim for its individual sound, inspired artistic decisions and unique cohesiveness. The group was named BBC New Generation Artists for 2010-2012; and as artists of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center “CMS Two” program, the ensemble has already performed at prestigious venues and festivals around the world. Violinists Adam Barnett-Hart and Aaron Boyd, violist Pierre Lapointe, and cellist Dane Johansen will perform works by Mozart, Duitilleux and Ravel. Sponsored by Vermont Public Radio. Simple soup dinner and soul stirring music to help fill the bowls of the hungry in our community.  Help the effort by joining us for dinner, attending the concert or both. All proceeds benefit the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry. Dinner:  5-7 pm, Twin Valley HS,  $10 / $25 family max.  Dessert:  6:30-7:30 pm, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
