Are you feeling a little freaked-out and overwhelmed?
Same here!
Don’t you wish you could travel back in time, just for two hours?
Well, tonight, you can.
Tonight (aka Monday), from 8-10pm, WVEW is rebroadcasting an episode of my radio show, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, from April 18, 2012.
It’s a rerun, mostly. I edited out time-sensitive stuff, like the weather and PSAs, and edited in a few new relevant mic breaks.
Tune in! 107.7fm and wvew.org
See you on the radio!
Indie local media is great
WVEW DJ’s are hard at work crafting original forms of programming to keep people amused and entertained – all without going into the studio. It’s a bit tricky, but it is happening. Hurrah!
Indie local media is great, and is helping preserve my sanity, what's left of it
It’s nice to hear a friendly voice on the radio.
Our fellow independent radio enthusiasts in Jersey City, WFMU, are following a similar protocol. They haven’t closed their studios completely — they have 5 or 6 paid staff who are allowed in the building, and clean it multiple times a day. Those are the only folks allowed to broadcast live. Everyone else is doing what we’re doing at WVEW: playing re-runs, or recording new shows in their home studios and sending the show to the airwaves remotely. Since they have a 24/7 live schedule, if you need to hear a friendly voice RIGHT NOW, and WVEW has no DJ at the moment, go to wfmu.org.
