What is the issue here?
This short clip highlights that there is a controversy and an inflammatory accusation by DeGray, alleging that the other Selectboard members are not concerned with pedestrian safety: but the clip gives absolutely no information about what the argument is actually about.
Can anyone tell us what DeGray wants to spend $30,000 for, and perhaps something about the pros and cons?

Here’s our coverage of this from a few weeks ago:
Select Board Meeting Notes
There wasn’t much controversy – DeGray wanted to spend immediate funds on flashing sidewalk lights. Others wanted to spend money, but make sure it was spent according to a plan, rather than a Selectboard whim, and wanted the Traffic safety folks to weigh in.
Pedestrians will get more safety equipment for intersections either way.
Interesting
DeGray’s comment on the video was that the rest of the Board refused to support pedestrian safety, which apparently was inaccurate.
His comment was as follows:
“So the point you’re saying is that we’re going to have a surplus of 6 or 700,000 dollars in the general fund budget this year, and we don’t want to spend $30,000 on pedestrian safety this year.”
And yet we keep getting told
And yet we keep getting told they are doing everything they can to keep taxes down.
What a bad joke.
