Everybody wiped out this week and no one was able to come up with a concert to share.
So, instead of full concerts, you are invited to share the equivalent of a video single. It can be an official video for a song you like, or a something that isn’t quite a full concert, but worth noting. (Save the full concerts for other weeks.)
I’ll start with someone that I wanted to play a full concert of, but couldn’t find any: Jonathan Richman.
He’s the only performer I’ve ever seen to get a room to go silent in amazement/hypnotism watching him.

Thanks Chris
It’s hard to find concerts containing both the artists you like while featuring your favorite songs you want to her live on youtube all on the same track, epecially that aren’t some amateur shakey, dark camera angle.
I will send a few tunes your way, as my computer won’t let me cut an paste these when responding on ibrattleboro, Les

Leonard Cohen: Live in London 2008
The Troubador sings “Everybody Knows”. Had the enormous pleasure of seeing him in December at Madison Square Garden. 82 years old – 3 hour concert.

2 - no 3! - for the price of one
I can’t do just one – sorry.
This is a favorite “find” of mine. A version of Elvis Costello’s Green Shirt by a cellist named “Lucibel Crater”.

This is not youtube, so i hope it works. It’s a newish band you might have heard them on ‘RSI – Alabama Shakes. the singer reminds of Janis Joplin. The song is not much, but the performance is A++.

Brittany Howard is the singer’s name and she is more than worth a listen.
Ooops, here’s another.
Another truly amazing voice from a band called Lake Street Dive. This is a version of Michael Jackson’s (or is it Jackson 5?) I want you back.

I liked the acoustic bass playing in the Lake Street Drive “cut”. It’s also nice to hear a more slow, agonizing over the one who is gone, version.
Lake Street Dive!
Never heard of them before, absolutely love them!

I heard LSD on Wood Songs – the show that comes on after DJ Cam – 3 pm on Wednesday.
What a voice their singer has (forget her name)!
I have a few...
I have a few artists that I’ve had trouble finding full shows to feature.
First up is Prince, who strangely tries to take down any video of himself on the web. Here he is last month playing a rocking, slow version of Purple Rain and a new song called FixUrLifeUp with his new band, 3rdEyeGirl.
English Beat is a great band that is hard to find a full concert performance online. This is a set from what seems to be a music fest in 1982.
My beloved go go music is hard to find in the full concert format, which is a shame because it’s the best way to experience it.
Sugar Bear is the bass player for EU (Experience Unlimited), a longtime favotrite go go band. This bit isn’t a full show but certainly captures what they are like in concert. I used to love to go to the old 9:30 Club and catch these guys. The room was about the size of a big living room. Drummers take note: Ju Ju House is an amazing drummer and there is good footage of him here. Note to Paul: EU covers I Want You Back during this set.
English Beat
Always liked these guys but never saw them perform, great group, love the sax and Steve Carell look alike (party Michael Scott) on gitch. Why do they need a light show in broad daylight I wonder. Thanks Chris
