WSESD Independent Budget Review Committee
Minutes from the IBRC meeting of 1/10/23 at the WRCC.
Members Present: Maggie Foley, Ruby McAdoo, Kristina Naylor, Jaci Reynolds
Kristina Naylor called the meeting to order at 5:00.
The Committee participated in the WSESD finance committee meeting.
At 6pm, the IBRC reconvened after the finance committee.
Maggie made a motion to approve the minutes of 12/1/22, 12/6/22, 12/20/22. Jaci seconded.
All in favor.
The IBRC discussed schedule of upcoming meetings to include:
An in-person kickoff meeting on Friday January 13th from 2-4pm at Maggie’s office (Holton Hall, Prouty campus)
Four subsequent Friday meetings from 10-11 am (1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10), likely zoom.
IBRC discussed agenda for Friday’s meeting to include: report outline, assigning tasks, outreach, and other business. Discussion of IBRC’s role at budget info session. IBRC members should try to be present and prepared for questions. Frank will likely present, possibly with a Board member. Other outreach ideas will be discussed on Friday. IBRC can make recommendations to Communications Council for getting word out. Members also discussed goal to provide more information about Common Level of Appraisals (CLA) in this report, particularly given the impact on district towns related to CLA formulas.
Maggie made a motion to adjourn, Ruby seconded. All in favor. Meeting adjourned at 6:26pm.
