Such a well-considered time for working parents of school children who might want to attend. I bet no one has any conflicts. : )
I used to give the select board a hard time for scheduling budget meetings – some of the most important meetings – at odd hours. The last few years they’ve switched to a more open and public process. It makes writing up meetings harder as there are more of them, but now the budget is less opaque and citizens have a better chance to participate at any point in the process.
Of course, citizens seem to barely care about school budgets, so maybe it doesn’t matter?
Note to fellow citizens – if any of you want to write up school issues, please do. You’d help a lot of people. Watch mtgs on BCTV or attend and tell us what happens. Step up and try it for a short period of time. : )
