Solar Workshop Offered

Learn the basics of solar at this free informational workshop, featuring a presentation by Kirk Shields of Green Mountain Power. Attendees will learn the advantages of solar electric systems, and about the different types of systems that are available, including community solar. Local installers will be on hand to answer questions about solar and its affordability.

The workshop is limited to 60 participants. Pre-registration is required – to sign up, contact Paul Cameron at (802) 251-8135 or at pcameron@brattleboro.org.

There has never been a better time to go solar. The price of solar panels has dropped by 50% in the last two to three years and new incentives and financing programs make solar truly affordable and a great investment. By going solar, you can save money on your electric bills while supporting clean, renewable power and local jobs.

Brattleboro Climate Protection and the Brattleboro Energy Committee are working with five local solar companies to sponsor Brattleboro Solar Summer. Our goal is for at least 100 Brattleboro residents to install solar electric systems on their home or business, or buy shares in a community solar project during the campaign period – May 1-September 30, 2015. The participating solar companies are offering a discount ranging from $50-$200/kilowatt, depending on the number of people who sign up.

Light refreshments will be provided. Sponsored by Brattleboro Climate Protection, the Brattleboro Energy Committee, Sustainable Energy Outreach Network, and Marlboro College Graduate School.
