  • A strange way to announce a youth contest

This is a strange way to announce a youth contest, as you write: “I can’t say how few submissions we have, but a local teenager submitting an essay now has a VERY good chance of winning !”

But if there are so “few submissions,” why is that so? And, if you have so few submissions, then it won’t give Bob Audette much to go by to form a real judgment of who the winners are!

Of course, if a teen submits “now” they have, as you write: “a VERY good chance of winning!” If only 3 teens send a submission, then all 3 will win and there is no real contest!!

If the topic and taken position of “youth suffrage” is so important to our community, then why was this community posting on iBrattleboro only submitted on December 25th?

How long, and, where else has this contest been advertised?

Moreover, it takes a lot of mental acumen to write a 1000 to 1500 word essay – on any topic! Why such short notice?
