Tune in for live streaming video of Archer Mayor’s presentation at Brooks Memorial on Wednesday, Jan. 29th at 7pm. Or enjoy the event in person in the library meeting room. It will be shared live with library sites in Montpelier and Newport.
Join NYTimes bestselling Vermont author Archer Mayor as he takes the plunge into cyberspace in an interactive video-conference at three Vermont libraries.
SPECIAL: During the video-conference, viewers will get a sneak peak at Mayor’s twenty-fifth Joe Gunther mystery, still in manuscript form, titled Proof Positive, which has just been sent to his editors.
Proof Positive includes Archer Mayor’s signature dose of mayhem and excitement gleaned from his real-world experience and expertise in police work, forensics and Vermont itself.
This new Gunther story focuses on a hoarder, his life-style, and a PTSD veteran. Mayor also brings the Vermont Medical Examiner, Beverly Hillstrom, and her daughter, into the forefront. The book is guaranteed to have all the action-packed suspense of his 24 previous novels. And more.
All are welcome to participate at one of the three locations, or tune in online during the discussion. The video will also be archived for online viewing after the event. Participating Vermont libraries include: Brooks Memorial Library (Brattleboro); Goodrich Memorial Library (Newport); and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library (Montpelier.) If you cannot be at one of these locations, you’ll be able to watch on YouTube via the Brooks Memorial Library website.
The video-conference will feature equipment purchased through a grant from Google under the auspices of the Vermont Department of Libraries. The addition of videoconferencing will allow library users to connect with, and broadcast to, the world at large. Videoconferencing allows people to connect with voice and video within the state and beyond our borders. Libraries will also experiment with importing programming or making existing programs available on YouTube via Google Hangout.
