In addition to our Drop in Life Drawing and Wednesday Open Studio sessions The Drawing Studio is now enrolling for three new classes in September. We are offering an early registration discount of 10% to students who enroll between July 20-27th.
Drawing Basics
Tuesdays from 930am – 1130am, September 24 – November 26th, 2019.
Drawing is first the practice of learning to see more simply. There is a basic visual vocabulary that is common to everything in art and in the world: line, shape, value, pattern and color (among others). Drawing Basics will familiarize a student with these aspects of seeing and introduce you to a simple and engaged way to begin drawing. Students will learn about the use of line, value structure, positive and negative shapes, proportion and composition. This 10 week class is for absolute beginners and anyone looking to firm up their drawing foundation.
The cost is $280 for 10 weeks (with 10% off this week) and the class is limited to 12 students.

Life Drawing
Tuesdays from 1 to 3 pm beginning September 24 to November 26, 2019
In Life Drawing class we work from diverse nude and clothed models to explore the basics of proportion, form, gesture, value and how these elements interact in a composition. Our experience of mood, psychology and relationship is held as equally relevant in our translation of what we see. This work will be supported with group discussion and art historical reference. We will work in a variety of basic drawing materials: charcoal, graphite, ink and pastel.
The cost is: $320 for 10 weeks (with 10% off this week), limited to 12 students

Drawing Skills for Older Kids
Thursday afternoons from 330-5 pm from September 19th – November 21st.
Do you have a child who likes to draw and wants to get better at drawing what they see and imagine? This after school drawing session is for older kids, ages 9 and up, who draw on their own and what to further develop those skills. All kids will be given a drawing kit and sketch book to use at home and in the world while also working on more ambitious projects in the studio. Healthy snack will be provided. The cost is $220 or 10 weeks (with 10% off this week) and this includes sketch box, snack and lots of instruction. Limited to 12 students.
