BRATTLEBORO, VT—As preparations heat up for this year’s Second Annual Southern Vermont Dance Festival slated to take place July 17- 20 in Brattleboro, Vermont, the organization is seeking volunteers to take care of a variety tasks from pre-event organizing to event set up and clean up to the myriad during-event activities.
Brenda Siegel, executive director of the Festival says, “the Festival couldn’t have pulled off last year’s event without the many, many wonderful volunteers who were ready to pitch in no matter what the task.
The Festival is offering incentives to volunteers. Depending on the task and the amount of volunteer time available, the festival will contribute a full four-day pass for volunteering for pre-event, event set-up and clean up. For those volunteering before and during the event, the festival will provide access to classes and performances. There is also plenty of opportunity for volunteers who just want to come to a performance or just want to help.
Early sign up will help the Festival accommodate a volunteer’s schedule and preferred jobs.
The festival is also seeking host families for some of its faculty and choreographers. Host families will need to provide a private room and access to cooking and washroom facilities. To offer your home please email festival organizers at info@southernvermontdancefestival.com
In addition, SVDF2014 is still accepting sponsors for this season. They are specifically asking that sponsors donate to a particular part of the festival that inspires their company the most. Sponsors are offered recognition in many significant ways. A private individual or a business could give a promising dance student or a dance enthusiast a chance at professional summer training. The business or individual would be publicly recognized through ads, classroom sponsorships and more.
The Southern Vermont Dance Festival is hosted in Downtown Brattleboro and takes place in eight different venues over four days offering over 100 classes to choose from with many performances from formal to informal. In addition, SVDF boasts free community events for 4 full days all throughout the town of Brattleboro.
Come lend a helping hand!
